Are you a seasoned family law litigator who thrives in high-conflict cases and complex financial matters? Seabrook Law Offices is seeking a Senior Associate with deep courtroom experience to handle sophisticated, contested family law cases across Northern California.

This is not a training role or a general family law position. The ideal candidate brings substantial litigation experience, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to independently handle demanding cases involving complex asset division and emotionally charged disputes.

The Role

As a Senior Associate, you will:

  • Take primary responsibility for a complex, litigation-heavy family law caseload
  • Lead high-conflict cases from initial strategy through trial or resolution
  • Litigate matters involving complex asset division, support disputes, and contested custody issues
  • Appear regularly in court and deliver polished, persuasive advocacy
  • Draft and negotiate sophisticated marital settlement agreements
  • Strategically prepare clients, experts, and witnesses for hearings and trial
  • Supervise paralegals and ensure all pleadings and filings meet exacting firm standards
  • Maintain meticulous case documentation in CLIO
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and client advocacy

Required Qualifications

This role requires demonstrated excellence in family law litigation.

Experience

  • 7+ years of exclusive or predominantly family law practice
  • Significant experience handling high-conflict, litigated matters
  • Proven record including, at minimum:
    • 50+ contested hearings
    • 50+ marital settlement agreements
    • 10+ fully litigated cases
  • Meaningful experience with complex financial and asset issues (business interests, property division, support disputes)

Credentials & Skills

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar
  • Exceptional oral advocacy, legal writing, and negotiation skills
  • Strong strategic thinking, case ownership, and deadline discipline
  • Ability to perform at a high level in emotionally intense and adversarial environments
  • Proficiency with MS Office and familiarity with CLIO or comparable systems

Work Environment

  • Hybrid structure
  • Regular court appearances and direct client engagement

Who Should Not Apply

This role is not a fit for every family law attorney. Please do not apply if:

  • You are early in your family law career or looking for training, mentorship at a foundational level, or courtroom exposure
  • Your experience is primarily limited to uncontested matters, document drafting, or settlement-only cases
  • You have not regularly appeared in court or handled high-conflict, contested family law litigation
  • You are uncomfortable managing cases involving complex financial issues or significant asset division
  • You prefer close supervision or are not accustomed to taking full ownership of your cases
  • You are not confident advocating for clients in emotionally charged, adversarial proceedings
  • You do not meet the minimum experience requirements outlined above

This position is designed for attorneys who already operate at a senior litigation level and are prepared to lead complex family law cases with independence, precision, and professionalism.

Apply only if you meet the experience requirements and are prepared to operate at a senior litigation level.

If you’re ready to take ownership of your work, sharpen your advocacy skills, and grow with a firm that values excellence, we’d love to hear from you.
